We didn’t set out to build another 20-second timer. We set out to build the timer we wanted to wear every game.
The 20-Second Lacrosse Timer by Don Stripes was engineered from the ground up by officials who understand that the best equipment isn’t the equipment you notice — it’s the equipment you never have to think about.
Every design decision started with a simple question:
“How would this work better on the field?”
The result is a compact, dependable timer that’s comfortable to wear, simple to operate, and built for season after season of reliable performance.
The included elastic belt loop lets you wear the timer switch-up or switch-down — whichever orientation feels most natural. The alarm produces up to 95 dB of sound, making it easy to hear over the noise of even the busiest games. When discretion is needed, simply cover the sound port with your finger to instantly reduce the volume.
Officials work in rain, heat, humidity, and everything in between. Instead of trying to completely seal the enclosure and risk trapping moisture inside, we took a different approach. The case was intentionally designed to allow water to drain back out, helping the timer dry quickly after wet games.
Powered by a pre-installed 12-volt battery, the timer is ready to use right out of the box. Real-world battery life has exceeded our expectations, with one of our original prototype timers still operating on its original battery after more than a year of regular officiating. While battery life naturally varies by use, the results have been outstanding.
When the game is over, simply return the timer to its storage box to help prevent accidental activation in your equipment bag.

The Don Stripes Difference
Engineered by officials who notice the little things.
We couldn’t find a timer that worked exactly the way we wanted, so we built one.
From the electronic circuit and printed circuit board to the enclosure, belt attachment, and final assembly, we made every design decision with one goal: create the timer we’d trust to wear ourselves.
Designed and assembled in Wesley Chapel, Florida using thoughtfully sourced domestic and imported components, this timer reflects countless small decisions that most people will never notice — but every official will appreciate.
Because the best equipment earns your trust one game at a time.
